Hello, everybody. How’s it going? I’m fine, thanks. Well, I’m sorry for delaying renewing the journals on internet. I am alive still now.

This morning, when I opened a fridge, there was milk written “Kazu” on it.
a0018711_9221670.jpg
“What is this?”, I thought.“Are there any Kazu except for me?”
Then, Lynley came there and said,
“The English customers left it for you.”
“Oh, really?”
“And also this”
She said and handed me some money.
“What is this?”, I asked.
“It’s a tip from them.”
“Why?”,I said.
“I don’t know.”
a0018711_924599.jpg
Who had ever got a tip at BBH? I was just happy. I guess they were glad that I gave muffins to them, and Sumie also gave banana cookies. They were very friendly so I also enjoyed talking to them. Anyway, thank you very much Brad and Naomi (the English couple).

Tonight, 7 customers are staying at our BBH. I guess I’ll be busy, and so I have to go to bed early. Then, see you tomorrow.

a0018711_92818.jpgHello everyone. How are you doing? It was raining in the morning but it became clear before long.

This morning, I waken by them Sumie, Sanae, Kaname, and Mitsuhiro. They left at 9 am. Thanks to them I didn’t oversleep. Although they said “Thank you” to me, I’m really thankful to them. They had me wonderful time and gorgeous meals. And besides, they left lots of food for me though I thought they forgot to have some food because there were banana chips which I dislike and they had known it. Anyway, thank you very much. I had really great time with them. I’m very thankful to them to visit here Hopewell.

Today, I worked until 3 pm. I had to work quite hard because I had off day 3 times last week. After work, I went running with King. I had much energy more than usual because I’d had big meals for 2 days with my friends.

However, in the evening, I was exhausted because I’d worked a bit long hours and I hadn’t slept enough last night. That’s why I went to bed early. And I didn’t renew this journal.

Anyway, see you later.

a0018711_1984088.jpgHi, everyone. How are you? Well, I overslept and waken by Sumie knocked the door. I was going working soon but then Lynley said,
“Take the washing up clothes to the cottage room. That is all your work today. Have a good day with your friends. Well, this is for you.”
Then, she gave me a big fish. She told me she went fishing and got lots of fishes. Then, I heard the name of the fish but I forger it.

Afterwards, I had breakfast and talked to my friends what we are going to do. Then, we decided to go kayaking. While Sumie, Sanae (sister of Sumie), and I was having breakfast slowly, Kaname and Mitsuhiro (Japanese guys both) went walking with King.
a0018711_9312928.jpg
At around noon, we got ready to go kayaking. It was not complete sunny but not so bad weather. We were sometimes bathed in sunshine and could see the blue sky. However, nobody didn’t care what weather was like, I guessed. In fact, everybody was so deeply absorbed in kayaking. Especially, Kaname loved it. Before we knew, he went toward middle of the sea though we were near the coast. When he came back, he said,
“I was scared of the wave to be high at the middle of the sea though it was a little bit exciting.”
Everybody thought that he was heartily enjoying.
a0018711_9331287.jpg
An hour later, I began to go back home while they were enjoying kayaking still then. On the way to go home, the wave was getting higher. I thought they would have hard times of it. When I got home, I began to make rare cheese cakes. In a short time, they reached home. Then, they looked tired as expected. I suppose they went kayaking for nearly 3 hours. Tired as they were, Mitsuhiro had had remaining energy. Then, he went mountain biking alone. He is a tough guy.

After Mitsuhiro came back, we went walking up to the mountain. Then, Sanae was sleeping. She was absolutely exhausted. Others said,
“When we went back home, although all of us did went with all our might, Sanae did for her life!”
Also an English lady said to me,
“When I went walking, I saw that they’d come toward BBH desperately.”

Anyway, all of them got home. And we went walking except for Sanae. Although I was lightly dressed, others wore warm clothes. Then, they said to me,
“Don’t you feel cold?”
However, they realized they’d been wrong 10 minutes later. Actually, the path were quite steep. Then, they said,
“Warm.”
“…hot. Very hot!”
a0018711_1910975.jpg
Although we took King, he usually went quite forward from us. When we reached on the top, it was already dark but we kept going forward. I wanted to show them deeper nature. The path was getting hilly and quite muddy but I thought they were enjoying it. When we reached a little river, there were quite high trees around us. Then, we had a short break and go back home.

It was almost night when we got home. We talked what we were going to cook for dinner while having the cheese cakes and banana cookies which Sumie had made. We’d got the big fish from Lynely. I dressed the fish. Actually, it was the first time to me. I made Sashimi for a half, and I broiled the remaining half. Although it was quite hard work for me, Sanae helped me to cut the fish.

Well, we cooked red curry, green curry, vegetable salad, and so on. a0018711_9483377.jpgThere were full of dishes on the table. We were very impressed by the gorgeous dishes when we had seats.
Someone said,
“I’ll never have such gorgeous dinner in New Zealand.”
Maybe I’ll be neither. Everything was great. We enjoyed quite long dinner time leisurely.

Then, Kaname said,
“I feel the car accident was like once upon a time though it was surely yesterday evening. I can’t believe it. Just now, I thought how the kind Kiwi men, who helped us, were doing now. It’s funny, isn’t it? It was just yesterday, yet.”
“Yeah, sure is. It means we’ve lived full days lately.”, Mitsuhiro said.
“Well, you said the same things also yesterday.”, Kaname said.
Then, we all laughed.

a0018711_9364829.jpgBy the way, Sanae was anxious to washing up when others were relaxing. Then, Sumie always said,
“Stop it! And just relax.”
Sumie was anxious about Sanae. By the way, Sumie is younger sister. They were funny sisters to me. Although I’ve got sister and brother, we are quite different to them.

As the night was deeper, we went to bed one by one. Before I knew it, I talked to Sanae in the living room which everybody had gone except for us. We talked about lots of things for example, favourite books, travelling, how today were, how we had felt New Zealand, how different Japanese culture and other countries’, what is important things in our lives, what are we going to do each, and so on. When we watched a watch, it told 3 am. I hadn’t talked such long hours for a long. Anyway, I really enjoyed talking to her.

When I went to bed, it was almost 4 pm. I am worried if I would oversleep tomorrow morning though I have lots of work tomorrow.

a0018711_93076.jpgHello, everyone. How’s it going? I’m fine except for a bit sleepy. Actually, it’s 2 am now though I will connect to the internet later.

This evening, Sumie and her companies arrived at Hopewell. They arrived here a bit late because of an accident. But I was glad that they were all right. They told me some kind Kiwi men helped them. They were very lucky because there was quite country side where quite a few people lived. Anyway it is good that nobody has got hurt and the car is also all right.

Although I made muffins for them today, they welcomed me for dinner. I was very happy. In fact, I hadn’t had dinner with somebody for a long. I had very nice time. Thank you very much. By the way, they are staying in cottage room. Actually, Lynley and Mike gave the special room at a reasonable charge for them. In fact, only a few people visit here because it is winter now, and so we wish big groups visit here as them.

By the way, it was a fine day today. I hadn’t seen the complete blue sky for a couple of days. Well, whenever my friends visit here, it is fine though I don’t know why. I guess I should be thankful to God.

Then, see you later.

a0018711_182478.jpgHello, everybody. How are you doing? I’m good. It is raining now in Hopewell though it was cloudy in the afternoon.

Actually, I woke up at 1:30 pm today. But it’s no worries. It was my off day because there were no customers. Last night, I went to bed at 5 am. I enjoyed cooking at the large kitchen where nobody was there except for me. I had dinner at midnight. Afterwards, I began to cook apple jam. Although it was the first time for me to cook jam, it was interesting. Actually, I didn’t know how much it should be put sugar in, and so I might put a bit much. It’s a little bit sweeter.

After that, I watched “Titanic” on video. I’d watched it before so it’s easy to understand even in English. Well, I don’t know why but I was impressed it quite more than before. Then, I felt I would have liked to travel by ship.

Well, this afternoon, I went running with King. By the way, I guess I put on weight recently and what was worse, yesterday I had big dinner at midnight and tasted apple jam many times. I should do exercise. Today after lunch, I went into the mountain to walk with King. I walked for a half and an hour. Well, I’m thinking what I cook for dinner now. I think I should have vegetables.

By the way, Sumie and her 3 companies are coming to Hopewell tomorrow. Although I get on well with Sumie, I haven’t ever met 3 others yet. That’s why I’m really looking forward to meeting them tomorrow.

Then, see you tomorrow. 15 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you.

a0018711_161522.jpgHello, everyone. How’s it going? I’m as well as ever though rain has been back in Hopewell.

When I woke up this morning, the French guy had already left here. And no customers came today. Now, I am writing this journal in the lounge. There is just me.

Although I am writing this journal now, I’m also cooking for dinner. This dinner is chicken curry. I’m cooking it much because I’m having it for also tomorrow breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Today, I cleaned the lounge quite tidy. That’s why I worked until 1:30 pm though there were no customers. I think I like cleaning though my room is not so tidy. If there was dirty, I don’t care it. Cleaning is like one of my hobbies.

Afterwards, I translated a diary of Mr. Mizuguchi. It was my English study. After that, I started cleaning my room. The cause of bad weather, I couldn’t go out, and so I wanted to expend energy. When I was cleaning my room, I had a phone from Akiko. She told me that she changed her plan. I’ll tell you it later.

Then, see you tomorrow. 11 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you.

a0018711_185545.jpgHello, everyone. How are you doing? I’m very fine. It was rainy in the morning today but it became clear in the afternoon.

My work was finished at 1:30 pm. Then, I had lunch and afterwards went running with King. Although the wind was a bit strong, it was comfortable for me. The wind swayed the trees. It was like as the trees were speaking.

After I got home, I had a shower and a hot spa. It was my conventional pattern. When I had a hot spa, the sun had already gone beyond the mountain but I could see the clouds on high were bathed in sunlight. It was beautiful. On the other hand, I was fighting with insects on the spa. The insects usually appear there the day after rain.

Today, Lynley gave me lamb chops. I roasted a piece of it for dinner. It was very tasty. Actually, I hadn’t had lamb for a long. And besides I have meat occasionally after I arrived at Hopewell because I have to save money to live in New Zealand more 3 months. Anyway, thank you very much, Lynley. They quite often give me some food. Thanks to them I will be alive until October, I think. I guess I have to work harder much more.

Then, see you tomorrow. Well, 13 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you.

a0018711_183651.jpgHello, everyone. How’s it going? I am not bad. What’s the weather like in your city? Well, it is awful weather in Hopewell now. Mike (my boss) said,
“It’ll be awful for 3 days.”

It was my off day today. In the morning, it wasn’t bad weather, and so I decided to climb a mountain. At first, I saw even the blue sky. I just went forward while I sometimes stopped to see interesting plants. Although there were path in the mountain, it was getting quite steep as I went into deep place. I slipped sometimes.

When I was over the woods, I could see a coast of lowland below. I was going down there. However, I couldn’t find the way to reach there. Actually, I wasn’t on the road, indeed, there was in the thicket. What was worse, the rain began to fall. I had no choice. I began to retrace my steps. The cause of the rain, the woods scene was changed from the time I’d gone through there first, but there were silent place as ever. I heard many kinds of bird’s voice. I listened to the sound of a little river, a breeze, and the rain fall. Then, I really felt,
“I am in the nature now!”

It’s a little bit difficult to say but I felt very happy then. I guess you may not understand my feeling of the time. Well, I’ve been thinking what important things and also trifle things. I know it quite differs from person to person. It is called “a sense of values”. A lot of things I felt important in Japan are actually trifle things to me now. How can I say, I feel my body became light now.

This afternoon, I continued reading the book “Seishun wo yama ni kakete” (Staking the bloom of youth on mountains) written by Naomi Uemura. I’ve read it the three fourths so far. He said,
“I climb mountains for no one. I do it for myself.”
At last, he passed away in mountain. Although I’m not going to climb Mt Everest, I’m having my life with the mind as like his.

Then, see you later. 34 people visited this site yesterday. By the way, only a French man is staying at our BBH tonight. Well, I wish sunshine would be back before long.

a0018711_181839.jpgHello, everyone. How’s it going? I’m very fine. It was the similar weather to yesterday. It was able to call sunny but also cloudy. Anyhow, it was not bad weather.

Tonight, there are no customers here. Now, I’m writing this journal in the large common room where nobody is here except for me. Richard, who is Canadian and had helped Mike to renovate some rooms, has gone on travelling to Australia. And so, I became only a worker here. Now, I hear just sound of fire place in the common room. But it’s comfortable for me so far. I don’t know how I’ll feel tomorrow. No one has booked to stay tomorrow night so far.

This afternoon, I watched “Green Mile” on video. Although it is a famous film, I hadn’t watched it. Then, I could understand about 50 percent of the story. But I really felt that I really liked it, and so I’d like to understand it more. Someday, I’m going to watch it in Japanese but before that, I will watch it English again and again to understand the story.

By the way, when I was watching the video, I got a call from Akiko. Then we talked in Japanese. Actually, the last time we had talked in Japanese had been once upon a time because we usually prefer talking in English. Well, although she is in Christchurch now, she is going to travel to North Island before long. Then, she’s coming to our BBH. I’ll tell you about her later.

Then, see you tomorrow. Well, 21 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you.

a0018711_172711.jpgHello, everyone. How are you doing? I’m very fine. It was sunny though there were some clouds in the sky.

Just now, I’ve had a hot spa while watching stars. It was about 6 pm to 7 pm. At first, there were many clouds in the sky so I was looking up at just darkness. But it’s gradually cleared and stars appeared little by little.

However, I really faced a matter then. There were certainly stars but they were dimly seen to me. Actually, I’ve got poor sight. I forgot it because I had used grasses a few times after I came to Hopewell. When I go to a city, I need glasses to read some signboards, to know bus number, and so on. But now, there are no towns and no shops around here. I usually don’t need grasses here. When I was watching stars, I thought my eyesight had been perhaps getting better. Although the stars were dimly seen to me, I could find the Southern Cross without grasses. The cause was perhaps the natural place, Hopewell but I wish my eyesight were better than before.

Yesterday, I got an e-mail from my mother. She said,
“I forget my password. If you remember it, please tell me!”
Actually, I remembered it. I think I’ve got good memory. Well, it was funny. Why could I remember her password though she couldn’t?

By the way, although I got fish from Lynley yesterday, I didn’t eat it last night. I didn’t have dinner because I actually had lunch too much yesterday. Also today, I had big lunch, and so I’m thinking if I have dinner tonight. But if I don’t eat the fish tonight, it will worse, maybe…

Then, see you tomorrow. 16 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you.
