a0018711_162757.jpgHello, everyone. How’s it going? I’m as well as ever. It was cloudy today.

This morning, my work was finished by 11. Then, I went running as usual, and afterwards had lunch, had a shower and a hot spa. It is my conventional day.

After that, Richard and I decided to go fishing. Actually, the last time I had been fishing was about 10 years ago. I was an elementary student. My hometown isn’t close to the sea though my grand father is actually a fisherman.

Anyway, I enjoyed fishing for about 2 hours though we could get no fishes…

Now, I’m going to cook for dinner. I’ve had easy meals for dinner lately. Today, I’m cooking my original spaghetti. I’ll tell you about it tomorrow.

Yesterday, 16 people visited this site. Thank you. Then, see you tomorrow. By the way, what are you having for dinner tonight?

a0018711_172246.jpgHello, everyone. How’s it going? I’m fine, thank you. It was lovely weather again today. I finished working at about 11. There were actually no customers today.

I went running for nearly an hour and afterwards had a shower, had a hot spa, washed my clothes, studied English a little, and translated the diary of Mr Mizuguchi. That’s all.

When I went running, I lay on the road and saw the quite high blue sky. Then, I realized the clouds rising up. I’d thought clouds had usually moved to front, back, left and right. Then, I was impressed a bit.

Several days ago, I god an e-mail from Peter W who has been a English teacher of me about 7 months ago. He told me that it sounded like an idyllic place here, Hopewell. I checked a dictionary for “idyllic”. Then, I really thought that was the very thing. Around here is surely an idyllic place.

However, I’ve felt bored lately because only a few people have visited here. I heard that a new worker was coming here on 15th June but she cut connection. Another worker was also coming here yesterday but he didn’t. When can we have a new worker? I wonder if I would work alone by the time I leave here.

Then, see you tomorrow. By the way, 18 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you.

a0018711_155416.jpgHello, everyone. How was today? I’m not bad. It was beautiful weather in Hopewell.

This morning, when I was working as usual, Lynley called me,
“Would you like to go to Havelock?”
I remembered I needed to get some food and answered,
“I’d like to go”
I was worried about carsick but I knew that we were going there by boat. Actually, I like riding a boat.

It took about 20 minutes to Havelock. I really thought Marlborough Sounds is a very beautiful place while seeing the scenery on the boat. We were on the clear blue sea, among the deep green mountains, and under the high blue sky.

When we arrived at Havelock, Richard, who works our BBH, showed me to a supermarket. However, it was too small. I don’t normally call it “supermarket”. It was just a shop, a small shop. Then, I bought milk and cereals. That’s all.

Lynley told me she was going to Blenheim to watch the soccer game of Sarah who’s her daughter. However, I don’t want to go there because I’m afraid of carsick. The road to Blenheim is quite hilly and really winding. That’s why I handed a shopping list to Lynley.

I finished working at nearly 3 pm and afterwards I went biking. Then, I was very surprised on the way. Something was on the road. Guess what.

Actually, there were many caw or bull (or some different animals) that was walking on the road. Although I was with King then, he was also surprised and turned back home. Even then, I kept going, of course. I enjoyed biking for about an hour and a half. I felt fresh air in the wood. It was a nice day.

Then, see you later. By the way, 16 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you.

a0018711_173220.jpgHello, everybody. What’s new? I have nothing special. It was rainy today though my work was off.

This afternoon, I was deeply buried in thought while seeing the rainy sea at the front of my room. Well, it's like my hobby. Then,
“I wonder what I am going to do”, I thought.
And afterwards, I looked many photos which I’d taken in New Zealand till today. Then, I really thought I’ve faced much of things or places.

Then, what am I gonna do tomorrow?
I don’t know.

I think I should go to bed early tonight and I will get up early tomorrow morning. Then, maybe I can find something special.

Well, 17 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you. This picture was taken last November in Akaroa. Then, see you tomorrow. By the way, what are you going to do tomorrow?

a0018711_18126.jpgHello, everyone. How’s it going? I’m as well as ever. It was rainy all day today here, in Hopewell. How about your city?

Today, I worked until 3 pm. This morning, many customers left here, and so it was busy, and what was worse, it was rainy. However, cause of the rain, I couldn’t go out even if it had been not so busy, and so that’s all right.

That’s why I don’t have some special things to tell you today. Then, I will tell you about a boy. Although I think somebody has already known it, the boy has commented here in Japanese. Then, I answered,
“I don’t understand Japanese. If you wanna talk to me, translate please”, though I am Japanese.
I wouldn’t like to use Japanese here because I’ve selfishly decided that this site is English speaking area. I decided to be Kiwi here. By the way, when Tomoko visited our BBH, she said to me,
“You are like Kiwi!”
Because I wore a T-shirt and a short pants though she and Sumie wore warm jackets.

Oh, sorry. It was about the boy. His name is T-hikl. He is a Japanese high student. I’m glad that he commented in English for us. Welcome T-hikl. I answer your questions.

I’ve got lots of treasures in New Zealand. One of the biggest things is beautiful friendship. Actually, I’ve got to know a lot of friends who’ve been from many kinds of country. Also, I’ve done many things which I hadn’t done so much in Japan for example, walking, running, kayaking, reading books, cooking, knitting, drawing, talking to ladies, going to a pub, travelling by bicycle, some working, keeping a journal, studying English, and so on. I can’t tell you what I’ve got from each experience because they are too much.

Hey, T-hikl. You are young. You have to go out from Japan and live there once. Then, you’ll be able to know what I’m seeing now. Lately, I wonder if Japan is a foreign country to me. This feeling is quite interesting, very funny, and comfortable. I think some Japanese dislikes me but I like myself now. I’ve been enjoying my life very much. My life is my enjoyment. It’s like a game.

Have you been heartily enjoying your life? I like the people who heartily enjoy their lives. It’s my favourite phrase.

Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.
That’s why it’s called a present.

Then, see you tomorrow. By the way, 26 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you very much. By the way (again), I used a photo which I took not today, again, because I don’t like a rainy day’s picture.

a0018711_182735.jpgHello, everyone. What’s the weather like in your place? Here, Hopewell was a warm day today. I’ve had nice day as usual.

Last night, the electric power was cut off until 11. For that reason, I couldn’t renew my journal yesterday. Sorry. This afternoon, I did it as soon as I finished working.

Afterwards, I went running alone because King had already gone walking with somebody then. When I got home, I had lunch and had a shower and the hot spa. It was the same program as yesterday. After that, I listened to English song to study. I listened to “Simon & Garfunkel”. They are quite old singers. I used to listen to their songs on the records of my mother.

When I was listened it, suddenly the black cat appeared from my bed. I was surprised.
“Since when have you been there?”
The door had been closed then. I thought she came there when I was having the hot spa. I think she should learn propriety.

Although it was warm today, I pasted a picture of ice needles which I took yesterday. Then, see you tomorrow. By the way, 17 people visited this site yesterday. Thanks.

a0018711_9586.jpgHello, everybody. How’s it going? I’m fine but a little bit tired now. This morning, I went walking up into the mountain and afterwards I began working.

It was a bit busy day for my work today. However, it was finished by 1 pm. Then, I went running because I hadn’t had enough time to go running this morning. I went running nearly an hour. First, I went along the bay because King hated going into the mountain. However, when we got home from the bay road, he would go into the mountain. Then, I’d been already tired, I decided to go there. Finally, I was exhausted when I got home but I was glad that King had become to like the mountain.

After that, I had big lunch, had a shower, and went to the hot spa which is in the garden. I had bath while seeing the blue sky and clear sea. It was very nice. I could absolutely relax.

Then, see you tomorrow. By the way, 39 people visited this site yesterday. Thank you.

a0018711_95452.jpgHello, everyone. How are you? I’m very fine. This morning, I got up at 7:30 and went running with King. It was a very fine day. I ran while bathed in sunshine. After I got home, I had breakfast alone because Tomoko and Sumie was in their dreams still then. It was just opposite to yesterday morning. This morning, I must get up early because I would work today.

When I was working, they left Hopewell. Tomoko said,
“I think it is the last time to meet you in New Zealand. See you in Japan. Thanks a lot”
Although she is staying in NZ until August, I’m going to stay in Hopewell until about the beginning of September. But we thought it was easy to meet in Japan because her hometown is in Tochigi prefecture and mine is in Saitama prefecture. In fact, Tochigi is next to Saitama. Then, I said,
“I’m going to Tochigi by bicycle”
By the way, Sumie’s hometown is in Fukushima prefecture. It is next to Tochigi, and so I wonder that I’m going to Fukushima by bicycle after I visit Tomoko’s house.

They went back to Christchurch. I’m going to Christchurch in September, maybe. Then, I can meet Sumie, maybe. Although it was the second time for me to meet Sumie this time, Tomoko is actually the first Japanese who I talked after came to NZ. We started to go to English language school the same day. We used to be worried about each lives in NZ when we hadn’t been used to living in NZ yet. Those days, we can never expect that she would go to Nelson to live by herself, and also I would go to Hopewell to work at BBH. In fact, the first lunch time, we went to Burger King but just ordering was quite difficult for us. Anyway, we have been brought up by New Zealand. I can think so for now. Thanks, NZ. Thank you very much for coming to Hopewell, Tomoko and Sumie. See you someday.

Well, in the afternoon, I went walking up to mountain. Then, I would take King but he didn’t follow me. He looked to want to go along the bay. I thought he has become to hate going to mountain because of yesterday biking. Anyhow, I climbed the mountain to be tired. Actually, I became to be tired afterwards but I found very nice view and it was good exercise. By the way, it was cold today. After finished the long rainy days, it became cold here. I saw ice in the mountain though it was already 2 pm. I don’t like cold. When it’s cold, I get warm by exercise usually.

A lot of people have visited this site. Thank you very much. On 20th, 15 people came here. On 21st, 10 people came. On 22nd, 22 people came. However, I guess the people who read my journal are about 10, maybe. Anyhow, thank you, thanks a lot especially to Sindia.

a0018711_184752.jpgHi, everyone. How’s it going? This morning, I got up at 10:30. I overslept though my work was off today. Actually, I talked to Tomoko and Sumie until 3:30 last night. However, they got up at 8 this morning.

It was very fine today. In fact, it hadn’t come here the real sunny. Thanks God! After breakfast, we went kayaking. When we were doing kayaking, we were on the deep blue sea, under the clear sky, and bathed in dazzling sunshine. Although it was the first time for Sumie to go kayaking, the wave was quite calm, and so all we really enjoyed kayaking. But actually, I also liked the wave of the day before yesterday. I suppose we were on the sea for about an hour and a half.

After finished kayaking, we cooked spaghetti carbonara. I’ve loved it for a long so I learned how to cook it when I had been living in Timaru. It was very tasty though the cause might be kayaking.

After lunch, Tomoko and I went mountain biking. On the other hand, Sumie did trampoline in the garden. When we went biking, King (dog) followed us. However, we did it for almost an hour, so he looked exhausted. Although he would give up many times, Tomoko called him every time he looked going back home. It was the first time for me to see him tired.

Afterwards, Sumie and Tomoko went walking along the bay and I had a shower. In the evening, we cooked baked chicken and potato with carbonara souse (remain of lunch) , and fried vegetable. And after dinner, we had rare cheese cakes with kiwi souse which we made last night. When I was living in Timaru, my boss’s friend taught me how to make the rare cheese cake. I learnt many recipes in Timaru. Although it had been the first time for me to make it last night, it was very delicious. I was impressed! Then, I was really thankful to Ms. Miho who taught how to make it. Thank you very much.

Then, we were listening to Japanese music in the common room. There were two Kiwi women there and they were reading fashion magazines. We felt, the scenery was very strange and funny because they looked like relaxing by Japanese songs. We felt that we wanted to know how they were feeling then. Although we were laughing, they wouldn’t noticed what made us funny because we were talking in Japanese. Then, Tomoko said,
“If they can understand Japanese, we are very impolite.”
When we were talking, we often speak in imitation of Momoko. Her speaking is very special though I can’t explain it unfortunately.

Today, we have really had a wonderful day. I think it’s especially thanks to the good weather. I’m really thankful to God for giving us dazzling sunshine today.

a0018711_95620.jpgHello, everyone. How are you doing? This evening, Tomoko and Sumie arrived here, Hopewell. I’m very glad that they came here. Today, they came from Nelson. Two weeks ago, Noriko came here and afterwards, she went to Nelson to see Tomoko. Tomoko said,
“Noriko told me Hopewell is very beautiful place!”
And so Tomoko came here today. Thank you very much, Noriko.

It was very good weather when I woke up. However, it became rainy, again. When I was preparing for dinner, they arrived. Then, it was cloudy. It was changeable weather.

Anyway, I cooked for dinner Hamburg steaks, “Niku-Jaga” (boiled meat & potato). Then, although they were impressed by my cooking, I was actually impressed by the Hamburg steaks. It was the best Hamburg steak in my cooking history. Anyway, we really enjoyed the dinner time. Then, Sumie drank wine very much. She heartily loves wine.

Afterwards, we went walking to watch stars. Sumie had got drunk, so she couldn’t walk straightly. For that reasons, she stepped in puddles and she spoke mysterious language. It amused Tomoko, me, and also herself. On the other hand, we were impressed by much of the star. We could see the Milky Way quite clearly. It’d begun from above the mountain. It seemed like a volcano, very beautiful volcano. It was breathing out the star powder. Suddenly, shower started though we could see much of star as ever. We didn’t know where the rain fell from.

After we came back home, Tomoko had a shower. Then Sumie and I continued watching stars. We saw some shooting stars though the rain had kept going as ever.
